Meat Truck

I’ve tried to love the burgers at Pete Miller’s for years. At one time a couple years ago I really did love them. The last 3 attempts to eat at Pete’s, however have ended with a lot of burger on my plate and no doggy bag.

They have fabulous steaks, but the burgers? Meh, I’d rather get a quarter pounder…

Sure looks good though doesn’t it?

The only thing better than the news headline was the face the girl at work made when she walked into the elevator and saw me taking a this picture.

Our very own Hebrew National was featured on a front page article photo for Pitch Fork, relating to the recent Pitch Fork Music Festival in Chicago.  His phone has got to be ringing off the hook with offers!  We’re so proud of you, buddy.

Guess which Co-Founder just bought a hot dog pencil case?  To make it even more realistic, it was $5 or roughly market price for ballpark hot dogs.  Win!

The sandwich cases were pretty random and entertaining too, but my allegiance is clear.

Say it ain’t so, Jimmy!  My life wouldn’t have been as sausage-tastic without you.  I hope you and Abe Froeman are whittling wood and talking sausage-related shop on a giant porch on a cloud right now.  You will be missed.

Conan’s Chicago visit was rich with meat-related content. Here are some of my favorites:

Conan’s 5/20 Tweet - “I’m in Chicago, the food capital of America, for one more night. Hang on, arteries, hang on!”

Special guest Lil Ed (red sequined fez-wearing Chicago Blues Legend) joined Conan on stage and sang a song called, “Icicles in My Meat loaf”.

Chicago is Andy Richter’s hometown and he embraced the audience with a warm welcome of, “I love Chicago, you are the people who taught me to love meat and cheese!”

Later, Conan made a reference as the voice of “the one vegan in Chicago” by saying, “you’re taking the life of innocent cheese!”

And my personal favorite, on the second night of the Chicago shows, Conan said, “I’ve been here for two days and I already have a 30% blockage in my artery. It came out shaped like a brat. And I ate it.”

Thanks for two fantastic shows, Conan!

P.S. Did he talk about meat and food this much in other cities too?

I don’t know where to get it either, so… it’s still awesome.
